Crafting Basics

Crafting turns gathered or traded materials into usable equipment. It is useful for both everyday work and specialised activities, and you can trade with other players instead of gathering every ingredient yourself.

Set up a workbench

Start with a normal workbench kit from the available general-store catalogue. Check its current price, your carrying capacity and where you are permitted to place it before purchasing.

Use an authorised home, assigned trailer or workshop area. Bench access checks the relevant property or warehouse permissions; an unlocked door alone is not proof that you can use somebody else's equipment.

Place the kit within the permitted area using the on-screen placement controls. Confirm a valid position, wait for the result and approach the finished bench to open crafting. See Home and Storage for placement and access basics.

Choose your first recipe

1. Open the workbench and check your Gunsmith level and XP.
2. Select a recipe to inspect its output, ingredients, duration and requirements.
3. Read the details even if the recipe is locked; they show what you still need.
4. Obtain the required materials and have them available for the crafting interaction.
5. Start the craft once and wait for the confirmed progress state.
6. When complete, use the collection action and verify the item reached your inventory.

Collecting the completed output matters. Crafting XP is awarded through successful collection, not just by selecting a recipe or starting its timer.

Normal and industrial benches

These benches offer different recipe catalogues. Owning an industrial bench does not bypass recipe levels, blueprints or other requirements. The industrial kit itself has a manufacturing route; inspect the available recipes or arrange supply through other players.

You can begin without a separate generic crafting-registration purchase. The important checks are access, ingredients and the selected recipe's requirements.
