Using Your Phone

Your phone connects you to people, work and city services. Keep the physical phone in your inventory and charge it before a long trip.

Open and prepare your phone

1. Press P on the keyboard, or left shoulder + D-pad up with the default controller bindings.
2. Check the battery and open Settings to review sound, notifications and connectivity.
3. Keep airplane mode off and mobile data enabled when using online apps.
4. Open App Store, select an app and choose its install action. Wait for the result; the installed app will then be available from the phone.

Start with Jobs, Bank and Keys. Use the Phone Apps directory to choose other apps instead of installing everything at once.

Call or message someone

• Use Contacts to save a person and their phone number.
• Open a contact or the calling screen to place a call. Check the call state before assuming the other person has answered.
• Use Messages for text conversations and Call History to review recent calls.
• Check notification and sound settings if you are missing alerts.

Keep conversations in character and follow the rules about information sharing. For urgent in-game assistance, use Emergency / 911 rather than messaging an unrelated player.

Charge the battery

Find an available phone charging point, approach it and use Charge phone. You must have the phone with you and be within reach. The action can be unavailable if your battery is already full, the charger is out of range or a charging cooldown is active.

Wait for the charge result and check the battery before leaving. Opening the phone repeatedly will not charge it.
